What Are All The Industrial Seed Oils?
The eight industrial seed oils include:
Canola Oil
Soybean Oil
Corn Oil
Sunflower Oil
Safflower Oil
Grape Seed Oil
Rice Bran Oil
Cottonseed Oil
Dangers Of These Seed Oils
With seed oils being a common staple amongst the general population, it’s important to understand the potential impact that these oils can have on your health.
All of these seed oils mentioned above can be classified as industrial seed oils, meaning these seed oils are unstable and oxidize easily. They contain harmful additives and they’re mostly derived from genetically modified crops. When industrial seed oils are repeatedly heated (as restaurants do in fryers), even more toxic byproducts are created.
Other than the crazy processing these seed oils go through, the biggest problem with these seed oils has to do with their insanely high omega-6 content. Now, it’s important to know that omega-6 fatty acids aren’t necessarily bad for us. In fact, our bodies need them. The problem is that seed oils contain WAY too many off these fatty acids. When you consume too many omega-6 fatty acids, it can lead to severe inflammation, which opens a pathway to many different diseases.
Say NO to seed oils!
What To Look For Instead
The good news is that there are FAR better alternatives to seed oils.
These alternatives include:
Coconut Oil
Avocado Oil
Tallow
Butter
Ghee
All of these options are far better than seed oils. These options contain far less omega-6 fatty acids, and more omega-3 fatty acids. On top of that, these options are all extremely nutrient-dense (especially the animal fats).
Closing
To conclude, with disease and obesity being on a constant upward trajectory, seed oils may be one of, if not the biggest culprits out there. Seed oils are highly-processed and contain way too much linoleic acid.
To combat this, we must find alternatives to these seed oils. By swapping seed oils with healthy fats, we’ll be one step closer to reaching our full potential!
